Ssro Dance 스스로 춤

Ssro Dance is a Korean form of improvised dance based on the idea of nothingness and was developed by the late Kim Ki-In in Korea.  I have been studying Ssro Dance in Seoul since 2015, whenever I visit Seoul, Korea from Sung-Lul Park, a leading member of the Kim Ki-In Dance Foundation.

The basic premise of Ssro Dance is that dance is performed naturally by abandoning the judgement of our conscious mind. In a certain sense, it is a form of mediation for uniting the body and mind through bodily movement. It is largely based on East Asian Buddhist philosophies, yet without being religious or spiritual. It focuses purely on the Qi that the body generates through movement, in the absence of human emotions or psychology.
